Conveyor Belt Sampler

Conveyor Belt Samplers are used to collect material samples from belt conveyors. The Conveyor Belt Sampler guides this sampling frame, which is enclosed on one side, in a circular motion along the material flow as it moves along the belt. In doing so, it automatically extracts a corresponding representative cross-sectional sample of the sampling frame from the belt. Immediately after collecting the sample increment, the cutting assembly quickly stops at its original parking position on the discharge area where the sample is removed from the sample cutter and released into the discharge chute.

Sample cutter drivetrains can be designed in various ways, but geared reducer/brake motor units are most commonly used in standard to heavy-duty units, and electro-hydraulic clutch/brake units are used in heavy-duty units.

Conveyor Belt Samplers are used in many applications, including: plant product conveyors in aggregate and crushed sand plants; receiving and firing conveyors in coal-fired power plants; ROM and loading conveyors in mines; Crushed ore conveyors feeding various beneficiation plants.

To ensure the belt remains undamaged and to obtain a complete and representative sample, the shape of the sampler needs to be adapted to various belt cross-sections and belt depressions. The use of brushes and rubber scrapers to ensure fine particles adhering to the belt base are discharged into the sample and not left on the belt is also involved. The Conveyor Belt Sampler is adjustable to fit all conveyor belt installations from 300 mm to 2400 mm wide and in horizontal or inclined directions up to 18°.
